We also need to connect the message of the text to our knowledge of the word.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;We need to use our knowledge of the world to see the connection between two sentences&lt;b&gt; &lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;(coherence)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;. The grammatical links between the sentneces &lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;(cohesion)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; also help us to see the connection between&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;them.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #f1c232; font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Reading subskills.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;We usually &amp;nbsp;use a subskill called&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt; &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;reading for specific information&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; or&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt; &lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;scanning&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt; when we scan, we don't read the whole text, e.g. when we look for a number in a telephone directory.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Another subskill is&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;reading for gist&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;or &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;skimming&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;, i.e. reading quickly through a text to get a general idea of what it is about.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;A third reading subskill is&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt; &lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt;reading for detail&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;. If you read a letter from someone you haven't heard from a long time, you probably read like this.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Another way of reading is&lt;span style="color: #f1c232;"&gt; &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;extensive reading&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;. It involves reading long pieces of text.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Reading is a complicated process. Whether we are apologizing, expressing a wish or asking permission, we use language in order to fulfill that purpose. Each purpose can be known as a language function. Savignon describes a language function as “the use to which language is put, the purpose of an utterance rather than the particular grammatical form an utterance takes” (Savignon, 1983). By using this idea to structure teaching, the instructional focus becomes less about form and more about the meaning of an utterance. Words can also change their denotations according to what part of the speech they are. El objetivo del CLIL es incrementar el &lt;b style="color: #6fa8dc;"&gt;STT (Student Talking Time)&lt;/b&gt; y reducir el &lt;b style="color: #6fa8dc;"&gt;TTT (Teacher Talking Time).&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Nosotros como maestros debemos promover la autoevaluación y la retroalimentación en grupo. Cuando los estudiantes utilizan la lengua extranjera (inglés) mientras toman clases de sus diferentes materias, nos demuestran que las habilidades lingüísticas y el conocimiento de la materia, están integrados.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;b style="color: #6fa8dc;"&gt;3. Cognition&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Lo cognitivo es aquello perteneciente o relativo al conocimiento. Éste, a su vez, es el conjunto de información almacenada mediante la experiencia o el aprendizaje (a posteriori) o a través de la introspección.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Las habilidades cognitivas son: razonar, pensamiento creativo y evaluar. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;El CLIL promueve el pensamiento y las habilidades cognitivas.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="color: #3d85c6;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;4. Culture&amp;nbsp;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;El rol de la cultura, del entendimiento de nosotros mismos y de otras culturas es una parte muy importante del CLIL. Adjectives&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;4. Adverbs&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;5. Determiners&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;6. Prepositions&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;7. Pronouns&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;8. Conjunctions&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;9. #6fa8dc;"&gt;Content and Language Integrated Learning&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;En pocas palabras y antes de especificar de una manera formal, el &lt;b style="color: #6fa8dc;"&gt;CLIL&lt;/b&gt; es lo que muchos de nosotros hacemos todos los días en las escuelas bilingües, o sea, dar materias en inglés, por ejemplo: Science, Geography, Math, Social Studies, etc.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;b style="color: #6fa8dc;"&gt;Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)&lt;/b&gt; es un método de enseñanza. Se da el contenido de una materia (Math, Science, Geography, etc.) junto con una lengua extranjera (inglés). Esto quiere decir, que enseñamos geografía o ciencias o la materia que se nos asigne en otra lengua (inglés).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;La enseñanza bilingüe es cada vez más importante en nuestra sociedad global, en donde el conocimiento de otra lengua ayuda al estudiante a desarrollar habilidades tanto en su lengua materna como en otra lengua. Con el pleno conocimiento de ambas lenguas, los estudiantes pueden comunicar sus ideas y conceptos en diferentes áreas con personas en todo el mundo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;En mi experiencia, es mucho más divertido, productivo y atractivo enseñar inglés junto con otras materias. De hecho, es lo que más disfruto, todos aprendemos y las actividades pueden ser más variadas. CLIL describe un enfoque metodológico de enseñanza y aprendizaje de diversas materias (Science, Geography, etc.) el cual se realiza a través de una segunda lengua. Este módulo requiere de un conocimiento de inglés a nivel B1 (PET).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;TKT KAL&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;Es una evaluación profunda del conocimiento de las estructuras y conceptos dentro del marco del inglés, es decir, el conocimiento de los sistemas del inglés que auxilian al maestro a planear y conducir sus lecciones: lexis, fonología, gramática y discurso vistos desde la perspectiva de lo que un maestro de idioma necesita para enseñar exitosamente.
